Hour 9. Working with Scripts > Use Comments in a Complex Script

Use Comments in a Complex Script

Scripts quickly grow in length and complexity. You can make them easier to understand in two ways. One way is to split up scripts into two or more scripts, each of which does one or two clearly defined things. The other way is to use comments. (And nothing prevents you from doing both; a comment can explain how one script relates to another.)

In Figure 9.6, you can see a script's comments displayed in boldface type. To enter a comment, use the Comment script step in the Miscellaneous category. In the Script Step Options portion of the dialog, a Specify button lets you enter the comment.
