Locking Databases (Shared Database Etiquette)

You can share a database and access it all on one computer. Open the database you want to share and configure it for sharing as described previously. Then, use the Open Remote command to open it in a second window. Position the windows so that the shared database is at one side of the monitor, and the client database is at the other side.

Shared Databases Are Updated When You Commit Changes

Create a new record in the database using the client database. Note that the number of records in the shared database is unchanged. You can enter data into this record, and nothing changes in the shared database.
