Q&A

Q1:Why do you have to use Preview mode to see how things will print?
A1: WSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) can't address issues such as different sizes and shapes of paper compared to a computer screen. If you have a printable layout and view it in Browse mode, you may see strange results—particularly with summary fields.
Q2:Is it a good idea to create separate layouts for printed reports or does Preview mode do all the work?
A2: It is often more important to consider the content of the report, not whether it will be printed. Use a layout with summaries in Preview mode for reports—printed or not.
