Quiz

1:What is the difference between If, Choose, and Case?
2:Why can the Evaluate function be a security risk?
3:How do you continue a calculation from one line to another?
4:Why can't you just subtract starting and ending times to calculate the duration of an event?

Quiz Answers

A1: If is a simple two-way logical test. Case is a series of logical tests of any length. Choose lets you choose results by number from a list of values.
A2: The text passed to the function is evaluated at runtime. If that text can be entered by a user, it could contain valid FileMaker commands that might do things you do not want to be done.
A3: Keep typing. Return characters are ignored. To enter a return character in a text string, use the ¶ symbol.
A4: By default, the calculation returns seconds, not hours and minutes.
