Overview of Functions

Functions perform an operation on zero or more parameters or arguments and return a result. Each function has its own defined parameters, the order of which matters. For example, the RGB function takes three parameters, which together define a color using values for red, green, and blue; those three parameters must be specified in that order. The Get function takes a single parameter, which is a predefined value (a constant); Get (UserName) returns the name of the current user. The functions DatabaseNames, WindowNames, Pi, and Random take no parameters, but they do return results.

You use functions in calculations. You can combine them as much as you want: A function can be used to calculate a result, which in turn is used as a parameter. To set the color of a short text string to red, you can use the RGB function to specify that color:
