Practical Examples: Working with External Data from Within Your Application

It's time to split the data tables from the remainder of the application objects. You can easily accomplish this using the Database Splitter. After you split the tables from the rest of the database objects, you need to write code to refresh links. Both of these topics are covered in this section.

Splitting the Database Using the Database Splitter

Begin by using the Database Splitter (covered in Chapter 20) to separate the tables from the rest of the database objects. The CHAP19EX.MDB and CHAP19DATA.MDB files are included on the sample code CD-ROM. The CHAP19DATA.MDB file contains all the tables, and CHAP19EX.MDB contains the rest of the database objects.
