Total Access Analyzer

FMS, Inc. also produces Total Access Analyzer. Its uses include database documentation and analysis. Total Access Analyzer allows you to quickly and easily generate documentation for tables, fields, indexes, relationships, queries, views, database diagrams, stored procedures, forms, reports, controls, data access pages, macros, modules, command bars, users, groups, security, and more! You can view the documentation onscreen in a Tree view, or you can easily output it to a printer.

Total Access Analyzer also performs extensive analysis of your database to generate cross-reference information showing where your objects, fields, and code are used. The hierarchical diagrams are particularly powerful for understanding a database. It also detects a wide variety of problems to help you find more than 100 types of bugs, and provides suggestions and performance tips for debugging. For instance, queries or forms might use a field that no longer exists, or you might want to know which queries or variables aren't used so that you can delete them. The field consistency analysis is also helpful to make sure that you define the same field name identically across all your tables. FMS has incorporated much of its “Best Development Practices” into Total Access Analyzer so that you can find and fix problems quickly. In fact, many organizations insist on running Total Access Analyzer against their databases before they deploy them. After all, why let your users experience a crash when Total Access Analyzer can detect the crash before it occurs?
