Working with Data Access Page Controls

Although the process of working with controls on data access pages is somewhat similar to that of working with form and report controls, you will find that some of the controls available for data access pages differ from those available for forms and reports. Furthermore, the process of manipulating controls on data access pages is not identical to that of manipulating controls on forms and reports. Finally, the properties available for data access page controls differ from those available for their form and report counterparts. For this reason, the section that follows covers data access page controls.

Adding Controls

The process for adding controls to a data access page differs depending on whether you are adding a bound or an unbound control. To add an unbound control, simply select it from the toolbox and then click and drag to place it on the page (the same process as for form and report controls). The easiest way to add a bound control is to drag and drop it from the field list directly onto the page. Unlike in forms and reports, the process of dragging and dropping a field from the field list onto the page links the page to its data source. Although one way to add a bound control to a page is to drag and drop it onto the page, several techniques are available. They include:
