Changes That Replication Makes to Your Database

Replication makes several changes to the database, but they're necessary to manage the demands of the replication process. Access makes the following changes to a database when it's replicated:

  • It adds fields to each replicated table.

  • It adds several system tables to the database.

  • It adds properties to the database document objects.

  • It changes sequential AutoNumber fields to random AutoNumber fields.

  • The size of the database increases.
