CREATING YOUR OWN ADD-INS

I used to think that spending time to create your own add-in was pretty silly. However, that has changed, and I'm starting to believe that it would be very cool to create add-ins to perform a number of tasks. Hence, this chapter. Don't get me wrong—add-ins have always been cool, but I thought they belonged in the realm of third-party vendors such as FMS, who creates numerous add-ins for Access and Visual Basic. (You can see some FMS product demos on the CD-ROM in the \3rdParty\FMS folder.)

My thinking that creating add-ins is only for third-party vendors has changed because I've come up with a tool of my own that I find pretty useful, and I want a quick way to put it on most of my forms. I want it placed on a form when the form is created, without the hassle of my having to remember to paste the code behind the forms.
