Lesson 4. Using the Help System > Reading a Help Topic

Reading a Help Topic

No matter which avenue you choose for finding a help topic (the Office Assistant, Contents, Index, or Answer Wizard), you eventually end up at an article you can read, similar to the one in the right-hand pane of Figure 4.6. From here, you can read the information onscreen or do any of the following:

  • Click a blue word to see a definition of it.

  • Click a >> button or an underlined word to jump to another Help screen.

  • Print a hard copy of the information by clicking the Print button on the Help window's toolbar.

  • Copy the text to the Clipboard (for pasting into a program such as Microsoft Word or Windows Notepad) by highlighting the text to copy and pressing Ctrl+C.

  • Return to the previous Help topic you viewed by clicking the Back button. (If you haven't looked at other Help topics this session, the Back button isn't available.)

  • Close the Help window by clicking its Close (×) button.
