Encrypting a Database

Encryption "scrambles" the contents of a database so that it's indecipherable, even by a utility program that an expert user might employ to see your database from outside Access. If you're worried that password protection isn't enough security, you might encrypt the database as well as password protect it. You must decrypt it before you can use it again.

Caution

Caution Encryption only prevents people from looking at a database by using another type of program. Access users can still open and modify database objects (unless the database is secured).
