Sorting a Field in a Query

You've already seen that you can sort the records in a table with the Records, Sort command or the Sort buttons on the toolbar. Your query results appear in table format, and you can sort your results the same way. But you can also specify a particular sorting in Query Design view so that the sorting takes place automatically when the query runs. To do so from Query Design view, follow these steps:

  1. Click in the sort row for the field you want to sort. A down arrow for a drop-down list appears.

  2. Open the drop-down list and select Ascending or Descending (see Figure 22.1).
