Creating a Blank Database

Creating a blank database is very simple because you're just creating an outer shell at this point, without any tables, forms, and whatnot. If you just started Access and the Microsoft Access dialog box is still displayed (see Figure 5.1), follow these steps:

  1. Click Blank Access database.

  2. Click OK. The File New Database dialog box opens.

  3. Type a name for the new file in the File Name text box, and then click Create. Access creates the new database.
