Chapter 15. Web Publishing > Browsing Records

Browsing Records

Sometimes you don't want users to see the entire database. But what if more than one record meets the search criteria they used to find their file? To allow a user to browse your information, you need a format file that displays the database contents in a table. If you want users to be able to edit the database, you can add the code to let them choose a record from the table.

Tables themselves are regular HTML code, but by inserting CDML's replacement tags you can build a table that pulls its information from the database and displays it “on the fly.”
