Chapter 15. Web Publishing > Providing Visitor Feedback

Providing Visitor Feedback

To provide feedback to the visitor, we need to create two more Web pages—one that will display after a successful submission, and another that displays if an error occurs.

To create a response message format file:

1.
To create a new Web page, follow the steps in “To create a basic Web page” on page 314.

2.
Position your cursor between the open and close <BODY> tags (Figure 15.36), and type the following HTML code:

<P>Thanks. Your name has been added to our mailing list.</P>

Figure 15.36. Text for the response should be inserted between the open and close <BODY> tags.

3.
Save this file in the Web folder as “response.htm”. It will display if the record is added to the database successfully (Figure 15.37).

Figure 15.37. Response.htm will be displayed after the data has been successfully entered into the database.
