Chapter 11. FileMaker and Other Programs > Exporting Data to Static HTML Tables

Exporting Data to Static HTML Tables

In Chapter 15, we show you how to use FileMaker directly on the World Wide Web. But sometimes you just want to export data from FileMaker to a simple HTML table. If that's all you need to do, you can create a file with data and HTML Table tags using the Export command.

To create an HTML table:

1.
In the database with the table data, sort the records as you want them to appear.

2.
Choose File > Export Records.

3.
In the Export Records to File dialog box, type a name for the export file and choose HTML Table Files as the Save as type (Figure 11.30). Click Save.

4.
The Specify Field Order for Export dialog box will appear. In the field list on the left, double-click to choose the fields you want to include in the table (Figure 11.31). Click Export.
