Creating a Basic Script

When you create a script, FileMaker starts you out with a default set of steps (see the sidebar “Understanding the Default Script,” page 125). You can use these steps as a basis for your script, or you can click the Clear All button in the Script Definition dialog box to delete all of the steps and add your own.

Using the default script as a starting point, we'll create a script that finds records, sorts them and prints a report from a specified layout. In creating this script, we have already followed the steps in “To create pre-sets for a script” on page 119.
