Formatting Reports in Design View

You can use AutoFormats to add some life to your reports, but if you don't care for any of the prefabricated designs and want to design your own, you can modify the appearance of every element on your report. You can change the color of any element (the report's background, fore/font color of an object, line/border color, back/fill color, and so on); the font and size of text; or the alignment of the text (centered, left-justified, or right-justified) among other options.

To format reports in Design view:

1.
Select a report.

Click the Design button (Figure 6.14) to open your report in Design view.

Click the report element you want to reformat and click the Formatting (Form/Report) toolbar button that modifies the element you chose (Figure 6.15).
