Chapter 6. Working with Reports

Chapter 6. Working with Reports

Manipulating data through tables or forms is pretty straightforward, although if you're viewing data only Datasheet view can display more than one record at a time. So, for more sophisticated data views, Access allows you to create reports.

You can use reports to present the contents of your tables and queries, perform calculations on the contents of your database objects, and even print address labels.

One way to think of forms and reports is as the input and output channels of table data. With forms you can enter data through an easily understood interface, while reports present that information in an easy-to-read format. You'll usually work with reports when you need to print out information that you obtain through queries.
