Viewing Queries in Design View

Working with queries is fairly easy, but it may take a little time to get them working exactly the way you want them to. Plus, if you change the structure of the tables you're querying (by removing a field or moving it from one table to another, for example), you might need to modify your queries to reflect that change.

To view a query in Design view:

1.
Display the queries in your database by clicking the Queries button in the left pane of the main database window.

Click the icon representing the query you want to view, and then click the Design button ( Figure 5.9 ).

The icon displayed depends on the type of query you selected. (See the sidebar on page 72 for a summary of the different types of queries.)

3.
Your query appears in the query design grid, along with the tables used to generate the results ( Figure 5.10 ).
