Chapter 10. Using Specialized Queries > Querying to Delete Records from Tables

Querying to Delete Records from Tables

Data entry isn't an exact science. It's possible to enter records into the wrong table or enter incorrect data, both of which could com promise your database's usefulness. You can delete records from a table using a Delete query.

To delete records from tables with a Delete query:

1.
Create a Select query to find the records you want to delete and then open the query in Design view.

Choose Query > Delete Query to bring the Delete row into the query design grid (Figure 10.7).

Figure 10.7. The Delete row indicates that your query is a Delete query.

2.
Switch from Design view to Datasheet view to ensure that your query finds only those records that you want to delete.

3.
Click Run.

A dialog box confirms that you want to delete the records found by your query.
