Chapter 10. Using Specialized Queries > Finding High and Low Values

Finding High and Low Values

As you learned in Chapter 7, you can sort your records in ascending or descending order based on the contents of one or more fields, but you can't easily limit your results to the top (or bottom) five, ten, or twenty values in a field using a standard filter or sort.

For instance, you might want to see the ten most recently published books you own, or find your ten least active customers so you can entice them to place more orders. Fortunately, Access allows you to display any number of high or low values in your tables.
