Chapter 2. Starting a Database > Saving Databases

Saving Databases

Saving your work frequently is one of the best habits you can cultivate. If you save your work every five minutes, the worst that can happen if your power fails is that you'll lose five minutes'worth of work. If you save once an hour, you'll spend a considerable amount of time replacing the work you did since your last save.

Access automatically saves your database whenever you create or delete an object (like a form or report) or whenever you add or delete data. The program does not, however, save changes to your objects automatically. You can (and should) save your work in progress.
