Chapter 14. Honing Your Database > Creating and Customizing Menus

Creating and Customizing Menus

With Access, you can choose which menus to display, change the make-up of any menu, and create entirely new menus, just as you do with toolbars. Customizing your menus allows you to group the most commonly used menu items and put them in the most effective order.

To create a new menu bar:

1.
Choose Tools > Customize and click the Toolbars tab.

2.
Select Menu Bar and click New (Figure 14.20).

Figure 14.20. Tell Access you want to create a new menu bar…

The New Toolbar dialog box appears.

3.
Type a name for your new menu bar in the space provided and click OK.

Your new menu bar appears next to the dialog box. The new menu bar has no items on it yet, so it is quite small (Figure 14.21).
