Customizing Toolbars and Menus

Although Access has an extensive built-in menu and toolbar system, the default versions of the menus and toolbars may not be exactly what you or your users want. It's easy to modify the existing toolbars and menus or create your own.

Choosing menus or toolbars is largely a matter of taste. Microsoft recognized the differences in their design of Access, so many of the functions available from menus, such as saving your work, opening databases, and printing the contents of the active document are also available as toolbar buttons.
