Starting Access

To use Access, you need to launch the program. Launching the program loads it into your computer's memory so you can use it.

To launch Access from the Start menu:

Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar and choose Programs > Microsoft Access (Figure 1.4).

The Microsoft Access dialog box appears. The default setting is to open an existing Access file (Figure 1.5).

Click the file you want to open and click OK.

or

Click More Files and click OK.

The Open dialog box appears (Figure1.6).

3.
Navigate to the directory containing the file you want to open, click the file's name, and click Open.

Your database appears in the main database window (Figure 1.7).
