In a few rare cases, however, people have made substandard usage their trademark. Dizzy Dean, a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals who later became a radio and TV sports broadcaster, is a case in point. Typical of his utterance: "Didn't nobody come around after the game and ask whether we'd throwed or threw the ball in there to make a play. We won 'em, no questions asked."
