By their nature, e-mail conversations lack the warmth of face-to-face discussions and telephone calls. Couple such “coldness” with the tendency of many writers to type messages quickly and sometimes thoughtlessly, and it is easy to see the need for etiquette rules specifically related to e-mail correspondence. By adhering to these rules of netiquette, you can avoid problems and enhance communications with all readers—intended and hidden.
