Chapter 3. Addressing Your E-Mail Message > Reaching Multiple Readers

Reaching Multiple Readers

Most e-mail software allows you to send copies and blind carbon copies of your messages. Generally, it is as easy as selecting To, Cc, or Bcc when addressing your e-mail.

E-Mail Address Element Definition
To Use this option for the primary recipient(s) of your message.
Cc Cc is shorthand for carbon copy. Enter the address of anyone you would like to receive a copy of your e-mail on the Cc line. Avoid controversy and hurt feelings by alphabetizing the list of Cc recipients.
Bcc Bcc means blind carbon copy. If you want to send a copy of your e-mail without the original recipient’s knowledge, put the address on the Bcc line. Or if you want to send a completely “blind” message, enter all recipients’ e-mail addresses on the Bcc line.
