Chapter 8. Crafting Your Marketing Strategy > Describing Your Sales Strategy

Describing Your Sales Strategy

Your sales strategy needs to be in sync with your marketing strategy. You need to describe to the reader how you plan to sell your product or service. Will you rely on an inside sales or an outside sales force to sell the wares and services of your company? If you're a startup company, it is easier to rely on wholesalers or commissioned sales representatives, who already have an established presence and reputation in the marketplace, than to create a sales force from scratch to sell your product or service. If you will be using manufacturer's reps, tell the reader how the rep firms are selected, the criteria you will use, how their qualifications improve your sales penetration strategies, and the territories they will cover.

Another area to consider is the type of product or service you sell.
