Applying quality characteristics to conceptual information

Conceptual information provides the background that users (especially novices) need before they can understand something or successfully work with it. Concepts can help users feel comfortable with new information and relate it to what they already know. The following subjects, for example, could be treated as concepts:

  • The process of how something works

  • An overview of a product, parts of a product, or several products

  • A comparison of related technologies

  • An abstraction that supports a function
