Check the accuracy of references to related information

You need to pay particular attention to the following kinds of references:

  • References to Web locations. To help users find referenced Web information quickly, use the specific Web address for the information. Remember that Web addresses sometimes change. If you know you won't be able to frequently verify that the addresses are valid and update your information accordingly, consider also including a high-level Web address for the company or organization that is responsible for the target information.

  • References to printed material. Include the title and the author or publisher.
