Overheads

Overhead transparencies are by far the most popular visual aids among trainers. They can be used in small or large group presentations, and while using them you can stay in front of the audience, maintaining eye contact and learner interaction. The room can remain fully lighted during your entire presentation. Overhead transparencies can be made quickly and inexpensively, and revising and editing—even with a marker during the session—is easy. You can transport transparencies effortlessly, and overhead projectors are simple to operate.

Reproducing large quantities of overheads can be expensive and less convenient than other media such as slides, however, and photographs do not reproduce well on transparencies. If you have complex or colorful images, the quality probably will be better with slides.
