Obviously you can’t plan for every possible situation you might face when you’re standing in front of a crowd of people. Nevertheless, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The following list of a dozen critical steps will help you think about and create your own recovery plan to implement in case things don’t go quite right. If you develop and memorize your recovery plan, you’ll be able to act quickly to prevent embarrassment and maintain your professional demeanor no matter what happens!

Basic Rule 20

If you make a habit of bringing extra markers, masking tape, scissors, and the like in your presenter’s toolkit, you’ll never have to worry about having to rely on others when you have a need.
