Transitions

Effective presenters use transitions to segue between questions and answers on the same topic, as well as between topics. Transitions are important because they help the discussion flow smoothly and make it easier for the audience to participate. The following are some examples of how transitions can be used:

  • “Thank you, Lisa. That was an excellent question. Does anyone else have a question?”

  • “That’s my take on it. Does anyone have a different point of view?”

  • “Let’s move on to another subject. What do you think about . . . ?”
