Chapter 8. Improving Your Skills > Videotape Yourself

Videotape Yourself

Seeing is believing, and nothing helps a new presenter improve his or her performance before a group than watching him- or herself perform on tape. Because most people have access to a videocamera, this makes for an easy and inexpensive way to practice. Videotape a practice run, and then review it with a trusted friend or colleague who can critique your performance. If no videocamera is available, you can get a sense of how you sound to a group by audiotaping a dry run and listening to the playback.
