Reading, Watching TV, Exploring the Internet

Hundreds of stories pass through our mind’s eye each day, sometimes without our even realizing it. The newspaper has stories in front-page headlines, in obituaries, in classified ads. These stories are yours to take and modify. Television has the Biography channel, science and history channels, and 24-hour news updates. These are all excellent story starters. The Internet has a wealth of story ideas— inspirational e-mail stories from friends, stories of successful entrepreneurs, and information from Web sites of all kinds.
