Chapter 5. Finding Story Ideas

In Alice in Wonderland, Alice gets lost and stops to ask the Cheshire Cat which path to take. The Cat asks, “Where are you going?” Alice replies, “I do not know.” He answers, “Then any path will get you there.”

Unlike Alice, you probably know where you want to go with your story. That is what defining your purpose tells you. But you may be unsure of how to get there. You can tailor a story to suit your message, or the other way around. Some people find it easier to find a story first and then develop the appropriate message from that story.
