Send a Message

Imagine people leaving your presentation with a Chinese food carry-out carton. The story’s message is the “carry-out.” Ideally, the message provides “nourishment” and “food for thought” long after your speaking ends. Ideally, people will repeat your message at least once during the next few days. They will smile to themselves when something reminds them of your story and your message.

Crafting a powerful, easily understandable, and universal message is key to a dynamite story. Your message is the core of your talk and should take into account the purpose of the whole meeting or event. Choose one clear message that people can hang on to. Make it short, easy to understand, and strong.
