Between the sale and delivery of products and services, Murphy’s Law—which says that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong—sometimes goes into effect. Orders are lost. Delivery people quit. Products become damaged. The test of a good salesperson is dealing with such crises and keeping the customer happy. A general guideline is that you have to throw in something extra to keep an already disgruntled client in your company’s fold.

As a writer, you, too, may have to come to grips with occasional snafus to maintain your reputation for professionalism, expertise, and accuracy.
