Chapter 7. Cellular Phones

In today’s business environment cellular phones are everywhere. It is also hard to go anywhere in public without seeing someone talking on a cell phone—in a restaurant, on the street, on the bus, in a car. Unfortunately, the greater the number of cell phones, the greater the opportunity for these devices to intrude and interrupt others’ privacy.

Many public places have banned cell phones from being used. Movie theaters and restaurants in particular are asking that patrons turn their cell phones or ringers off. Use of cell phones by drivers of passenger vehicles has even been addressed in recent legislation, as many states attempt to pass laws prohibiting cell phone use while driving.
