Chapter 3. Meeting People > Introducing People

Introducing People

Although we may not be as formal as we used to be, introductions are still very important.

When you introduce someone, start with “Mr. Long, meet Mr. Roscoe from Company/Dept/State,” or “Mrs. Brown, I’d like to introduce my son, Cliff. Cliff, this is Mrs. Brown.” Never phrase an introduction as a command: “Mr. Roscoe, shake hands with/meet Ms. Long.”
