Tip 41 Use the Room to Clarify the Structure of Your Presentation

When audiences listen to presentations, they depend on visual aids and the presenter’s signpost statements for structural cues.

Your movement through the presentation room can be another subtle but valuable structural cue for your audience. If you key your movements to topic or subtopic shifts in your talk— using techniques we could call “functional movement”—your audience will receive an almost subliminal sense of an organized flow through a defined structure.
