Chapter 11. Steps for Giving Constructive Feedback

Since we know and understand on a personal level how difficult it is to handle critical feedback, it is essential for us to understand that when we give negative feedback that we provide it constructively. Constructive feedback is aimed at promoting improvement or development of the person to whom you are providing the feedback.

Open feedback can relieve stress, permitting people to stop playing games of guessing at expectations and evaluations. Because honesty promotes trust and paves the way to intimacy, constructive feedback can improve interpersonal relationships.
