On Staying “Open”

You may say, “Ah, but what if defining an objective on my resume eliminates me from being considered for a job I might not have thought of, but am qualified to do?” or “I want to keep my options OPEN—open to anything that can be a source of income and stability, a toehold in an organization of interest.”

Reciting your personal background for employers to evaluate will not catch the attention of an employer with very specific hiring needs. An unfocused resume reduces your chances for becoming a successful applicant. Defining your objective will help you be noticed.
