Organizing Reports

As you begin the report-writing process, you will need to decide which format to use: memo, letter or formal. Here are suggestions for each:

Letter format: For someone external to your company, and your report has fewer than eight pages.
Memo format: For someone inside your company, and your report has fewer than eight pages.
Formal format: For someone inside your company who is higher in authority, and your report is over eight pages long.
