The Cost of Poor Interviews

Handling the employment interview well can help you find “the perfect job.” Not handling the interview well could cause you to lose that job. Understandably, prospective employers regard the interview as their only opportunity to find out if you are the right person for the job. The employer’s time is expensive; she must ask penetrating questions—questions designed not to embarrass you but to find out if you have the creativity, quick-wittedness, background, skills and experience needed for the job. If the interviewer fails to learn as much as she can about you, she may have to pay for that failure in the future.
