Humor Makes a Difference

Most of us have become far too serious. We have people that are better trained than ever, but they don’t seem to have nearly as much fun as they once did. U.S. workers, for example, consume over 15 tons of aspirin a day. As if our own personal and professional lives were not stressful enough, we are besieged with a steady diet of depressing local, national and world news.

The media guarantees to bring any world or national crisis to your doorstep the same day. If there are no catastrophes, do not despair. The networks have a ready supply of footage from old tragedies to celebrate anniversaries of pain. It’s no better on the job; reorganizations, corporate buyouts, and world competition are causing workers to work harder, change, or fall behind. It is no wonder stress related illnesses are filling our doctor’s offices.
