Chapter 2. Self-Confidence and the Abili... > Living through Our Daily Quota of Er...

Living through Our Daily Quota of Errors

Let’s face it. We all make our quota of errors. If you’re like most people, you occasionally feel that the quota allowed for some days is hardly adequate. With the world challenging us to change at alarming rates, few of us have time to master a required skill before they change it again. No one can promise you will be immune from mistakes, but you can learn from the one’s you do make. Being able to laugh at yourself helps let go of mistakes and bounce back to attack the problem anew.

Life is like a car with no brakes. If you spend too much time looking in the rearview mirror, you will probably hit a tree you could have seen out the front window. That’s why the front window is bigger. Laughter helps you focus on your front window. It allows you to keep your perspective. The past is over and you can do nothing to change it. You can laugh or you can cry, but get on with life.
